Miss Campbell joined the team at Saxton in September 2023, having previously taught at another local school. She trained in various schools in County Durham in 2021-22. Last year, Miss Campbell taught locally in a Year 3 class, where she enjoyed helping her class in their transition from KS1 to KS2. Miss Campbell is currently subject leader in Music for Saxton. Having studied Music and English at university, she is very passionate about the benefits that music can bring to a child’s life, and is excited to share her passion with the children here at Saxton. She is particularly interested in reading for pleasure, and believes that reading can open many doors for children. Miss Campbell is an advocate of creating a growth mindset, where children develop a positive attitude and resilience towards their learning. Miss Campbell believes that a child’s education encompasses more than academic learning, and that children’s social and emotional development are also vital parts of their education.Miss Campbell loves to sing in her free time. She sings with York Opera, a local evensong choir and a York a cappella group which she co-founded with another Music graduate. She also loves visiting her family in Northern Ireland and exploring England.
